Bikram 90

This class is taught by:

Michelle Furlong (owner/director)

Michelle grew up Middletown, Ohio before attending college in Virginia, and graduate school in New York City. She took her first Bikram Yoga class in December 2007 to help manage the stress of a demanding career in the banking industry. After her first class, she was hooked and practiced regularly in New York and in London, where she lived for 2 years.

Michelle took a break from the banking world and graduated from Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in 2012. After spending a few years traveling and teaching, she decided to move back to Cincinnati to teach permanently. Michelle became the owner of Bikram Yoga Cincinnati in June of 2015.

Jackie Mistler

Jackie competed in athletics since childhood, traveling the U.S. in women's softball and competing in swimming, tennis, volleyball and cross country.   In 1980, she signed on at Eastern Kentucky University on a full basketball scholarship after scoring over 3000 points in high school before the 3 point shot. Her career was sidelined by a serious injury which crushed her left leg and has since had over 20 surgeries on leg.  Through it all, she earned her BSN in Nursing at EKU and has had worked in several areas of medicine, including dialysis, mental health, pharmaceutical research, paramedical insurance, and is currently working as an occupational nurse for the federal government. Since raising her 3 children she works on her golf game, swims, bikes, teaches group fitness classes, loves music, and is passionate about dogs however, she puts healing her mind and body mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally first by practicing Bikram yoga. " I've been practicing since 2001 & teaching since 2006 attending Training in Los Angeles. Yoga is my mental de-stresser and has no hard impact on my joints. I try to teach every class with kindness, hope, love, and humor. My favorite phrase is ' What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.' Simply put, never give up!"

Josie Huang

I started practicing Bikram yoga in 2007 in Pasadena, California where I was working in investment industry for years as a way to improve health and manage stress, until early 2010 when I moved to Arkansas, where there is no Bikram yoga studio in the entire state. I continued to practice Bikram yoga in my own home, and it was at that point when I truly appreciate its healing power, the subtle elements of the practice that improve my health. My passion for this practice led me to become a certified Bikram instructor, and I graduated from Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in 2010. Today I am still amazed by what Bikram yoga does for my body and mind. I look forward to sharing this and more with you. I’ll see you in class!

Meghan Watkins

It was a Friday, May 19th, 2012, when I stepped into the hot room for my 1st Bikram Yoga class. I had been on my own personal journey through health and wellness after college, eventually earning certifications in Group Exercise and CrossFit. I was learning how to care for my body, however, nothing hit me like the Bikram Yoga series. The sweet heat, dedication to detail within postures and opportunity for complete mind body spirit connection resonated with me immediately! Two classes in and I was hooked.

After practicing for 3.5 years I "jumped off the ledge" and headed to teacher training in September of 2015. I can honestly say this was the best decision I have ever made. This practice of yoga changed and continues to change the course of my life and being. A true reflection of the self - it is whatever you want it to be and/or rather it not be. Yoga is what you need, what you despise, what you love, what you are unsure of – it brings out the real you – the good, bad, ugly and beautiful!

Being able to share this yoga with others through teaching everyday is literally the best "job" in the world. I love seeing students come to realizations in and out of the hot room, working their asses off and their stuff out! It’s raw, genuine and beautiful. I am grateful to be a part of the glorious sweaty change that happens in peoples lives as the yoga opens us up mind, body and spirit.

Jwala Prasad

In the mid 90's, I attended a ten-day vipassana meditation course. During that time, I had a hard time sitting on the floor as my whole body was hurting.  I thought yoga may help. There were no yoga studios in Cincinnati at that time. Around 1998 the first Ashtanga studio opened and I became a regular student, and was certified to teach Ashtanga yoga in 2001.  About four years ago, I was vacationing in Orlando and the only yoga studio close by was Bikram.  I practiced every day during my stay and was totally addicted. I love the way the sequence of postures was organized.   It has a tremendous amount of therapeutic benefits, physical as well as mental. I continued to practice at Bikram Yoga Cincinnati.  After I retired from my job as an Anesthesiologist, I attended Teacher's Training 26x2 directed by Craig Villani of Raja Yoga Academy. I love to share my practice, teach, and spread the philosophy behind this yoga.

Jason Minx

Hi! My name is Jason. In 2007, I took my first Bikram yoga class so I could go on a date with the teacher. Little did I know how much it would change my damaged body. I became a Bikram teacher in 2009, co-owned a studio in Las Vegas and taught all over the country as well as the other side of the world. I'm happy to join the Cincinnati yoga community and I look forward to seeing you in my class!
The traditional 90 minute Bikram class is calibrated for the stiffest beginners yet challenging to all skill levels.
